At Upstate Amish, we offer a diverse selection of bedroom furniture. This of course includes our handmade bed frames that feature solid domestic hardwood.
Each bed style has a headboard only option that is less expensive than the entire wood bed frame. For example, the Cambria Storage Bed is $2,267 in maple wood as king size. The headboard by itself is $1,110 in the same size. This is a great option to elevate your bedroom on a budget.
We ship anywhere in the continental United States for a flat rate of only $199. In stock bed frames typically take 2-4 weeks to ship. Customized frames take between 8 and 12 weeks to make and deliver.
Our solid wood furniture is well worth the wait. Not only is it heirloom quality, but features handcrafted details and showcases the skill of our Amish partners.
Please note that none of our Amish wooden bed frames include a mattress. The only exceptions to this are our folding Murphy beds. These compact options are perfect for guest spaces.

Customize Your Wooden Bed Frame
One of the most important benefits of choosing Amish furniture is the ability to customize. For every bed frame, customers select the wood species, stain color, style, and size. Even details like dimensions and hardware options are easily editable.
This is a rare advantage because most furniture on the market is the product of mass production. This leads to generic designs and basic color options that appeal to most, but not all, people. We offer beautiful, handcrafted designs and give customers a wide range of options. This way, you can create your dream bedroom set without compromising for less than perfect.
Wood Species and Stain Color Options
Domestic hardwoods we offer are: cherry, maple, red oak, white oak, quarter sawn oak, hickory, birch, elm, and walnut. Each of these options has a range of stain colors to choose from that compliment the wood type.
Maple specifically is incredibly versatile and absorbs stain well. Fourteen different stains are available for this wood species alone. They range from the light, beachy Blissful Sand stain to a reddish Rich Cherry, to much darker Brown Velvet and even Ebony.
We also offer a variety of high quality paint colors on maple and red oak wood. Some of these are essential to our classic two tone color combination options. An attractive option is maple in Cocoa Light stain contrasting with Coastal White paint.
Customers can also mix wood species in the same piece. For example, a popular combination is maple with an Ebony stain paired with natural walnut wood or flamed birch.
For those seeking a highly figured wood pattern, we recommend our quarter sawn oak, elm wood, or the rare flamed birch option. All wood species and stain colors we offer are viewable online. Click Indoor Wood and Color Options under the Information tab for a closer look.
We also offer a unique reclaimed wood option that features sustainable sourcing. The Silverton bed and matching set are 100% repurposed barn wood. This diverts waste from landfills and gives new life to historied material.
Other Customizable Details
Many of our wood platform bed frames have drawers for added storage space. Choose from our selection of knobs and handles in gold, silver, bronze, and black colors.
These hardware options differ in style from decorative to rustic to sleek, modern finishes. Customize your dream bed set down to the color and style of the drawer handles.
Another important factor to consider is that each bed frame is available with a platform base. Customers choose between a no storage option or a frame with drawers. Options are a siderail drawer unit, a siderail and footboard unit, or a deep siderail unit.
Each frame is available as a full, queen, or king bed. Even a California king size is available upon request. Some styles have a twin bed option available, which is perfect for small spaces.
Custom Bed Frames
Aside from customizing existing styles, fully custom pieces are available as well. We can work with you to create your ideal bed and headboard. An example of a custom piece is a wall to wall unit with a built in bed frame and bookshelves.

Match Bed Frames with Wood Furniture
Most of our solid wood bed frames are part of a matching set of bedroom furniture. Sets include: a bed frame, nightstands, a chest of drawers, a dresser, and a dresser mirror. Other pieces available for some sets are: jewelry armoires, revolving mirrors, chiffoniers, wardrobes, and lingerie dressers.
A matching bedroom set is a great way to bring a cohesive sense of style to a sleeping space. We offer sets in traditional, modern, rustic, and variations of these styles.
Craftsman - Traditional Amish Mission Style Bed Set
Our Craftsman bedroom set features classic Amish Mission style throughout all pieces. Key features are: prominent wood grain, a heavy, sturdy look, and detailed craftsmanship. The bed itself has a substantial platform base with deep siderail drawrers.
Both the headboard and footboard feature parallel slats common in Mission furniture. Arched paneling adds another level of detail to the bed as well. To match this subtle curved detail, the bases of other pieces in the set display an arched cutout base.
Quarter sawn white oak is traditionally essential to Mission style furniture. It features a highly figured wood grain with intricate detail. This aligned perfectly with the focus on natural materials in the Arts and Crafts Movement. This movement took place in the early 1900s, and is where Mission style originated and became popular.
Mission style was a part of a counter-movement against the extravagance of the Victorian era. Instead of ornate, decorative furniture, Amish craftsmen focused on simplicity and functionality. This is evident in the design of our classic Amish Craftsman set.
Because of the way it is sawn, quarter sawn oak features a unique ray fleck pattern that resembles ribbons. This attractive option is more expensive than plain sawn oak because it requires more labor and yields less usable wood. Our Michael's Cherry stain looks excellent on this cut of oak.
Hilton - Mid Century Modern Bedroom Furniture
Our Hilton wooden bed set is a popular choice for its retro, simple style. Our mid century modern set brings vintage charm to any bedroom. This timeless style has remained popular for many decades because of its versatility and minimalist design.
This style features clean, neat edges and lines with minimal detail. Basic square paneling is visible along the headboard, footboard, and sides of the storage pieces. The solid wood bed frame is available with an upholstered or paneled headboard.
All pieces in the set feature classic Mid Century tapered legs. This specific style begins at the base of each piece for legs no taller than half a foot. The two outward facing sides of the legs are perfectly straight while the inward facing sides taper dramatically. This gives a neat, geometric look to the furniture.
The inset drawers have sharp corners for a clean and simple appearance. Wide, thin handles look excellent on this set and enhance the sleek, modern look.
Our Hilton Mid Century Modern set looks best with a figured, intricate grain pattern. This is because the simplicity of the design draws focus to the wood.
The sporadic curls, waves, and stripes of maple wood look excellent in our deep Brown Velvet stain. Natural walnut is great choice for MCM furniture as well because of the unique color contrast it offers. We don't recommend painted wood for mid century furniture, as a key focus of the style is natural material.
Roughsawn - Rustic Farmhouse Wood Bed Set
Our Roughsawn set is the perfect choice for those seeking a rustic style bedroom. Rough sawn wood is heavier, sturdier, and thicker than regular wood. It has a more natural, rugged look than other types of furniture.
Rough sawn maple wood looks excellent in our Honey Cider stain. This stain provides excellent color contrast in the natural burls and other patterns in the grain.
The design of this set matches the strong, natural look of the wood itself. The legs of each piece are wide and sturdy and feature mortise and tenon joints. This type of timber framing is common in load bearing structures and gives the furniture a sturdy look.
The wood frame of the bed features an arched headboard and a shiplap back and footboard. Or, the bed is available with a straight, paneled headboard. This option has more in common with classic Mission style.
The warm tones of our Honey Cider stain add warmth and character to this set. It makes for a unique and charming farmhouse style bedroom.
