Customize Your Solid Wood Dining Room Table

One of the most important benefits of choosing Amish furniture is the ability to customize each piece. For every table and chair, the customer chooses the wood species, stain color, style, and size. Edit details like dimensions and hardware options as well. Also choose whether you prefer an extendable dining table or a solid top.

On a solid top, the grain will run lengthwise down the table. For our extendable option, the grain runs widthwise for a seamless, smooth transition.

Fully custom pieces are available as well like extra large dining tables and benches. Contact us for a price estimate on whatever you have in mind.

Since we have so many options, it can be hard to choose the perfect combo. Below, we recommend some of our favorite wood species, stain, and style combinations.

Dark Wood Dining Table

An excellent choice for a dark wood dining set is maple wood with our Rich Cherry stain. This looks especially nice on our Biltmore table and adds a hint of deep burgundy. This style is elegant and sophisticated, so a uniform dark stain makes it perfect for a more formal dining space.

Another popular choice for a dark wood dining set is the Carlisle table in Brown Velvet stain on hickory wood. Hickory adds a rustic touch because of its sporadic, unusual grain pattern.

Light Wood Dining Table

Our rustic white oak is an excellent option for a light wood dining set. Both Blissful Sand and Willowbend are great stain options and compliment the delicate, airy Parsons Turned Leg Table. Maple wood also absorbs these stain colors well, but looks a little cooler while the white oak is warmer.

More Unique Options

Our Mid Century Modern tables and chairs look excellent in natural walnut wood. The simplicity of the design draws focus to the color contrast and distinct grain patterns in walnut.

Quarter sawn oak compliments our Amish Mission style pieces. During the Arts and Crafts Movement, this style of American furniture was popular for its use of this specific cut of wood. The Michael's Cherry stain is a popular choice for this species and helps bring out the unique ray fleck ribbon patterns in the grain.

Round Wood Dining Table Set

Round wooden dining tables are a great option for a more casual, comfortable dining area. Without heads of the table, they feel less formal than a traditional rectangular option. Round styles are convenient because each person can see and hear equally across the table.

We offer a variety of styles and sizes for our round wood dining tables. The available sizes in inches are: 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72. Our smallest table seats two comfortably and the largest size seats eight with a solid top.

Most styles have an optional extension mechanism including one or two 12 or 18 inch leaves. This expands the shape from round to an oval wood dining table. We do offer a solid top oval table as well - our Traditional Double Pedestal style.

Extendable tables increase seating capacity considerably. For example, the Alberta 72 inch seats six to eight people comfortably with a solid top. Add an 18 inch extension leaf and the table can now seat ten to twelve people.

Popular styles for our solid wood round dining tables are: Alberta, Mid Century Modern, Carlisle, and Drop Leaf.

Rectangular Amish Dining Table Styles

We offer a wide variety of rectangular styles and sizes as well. Our sizes include: 36 x 48, 42 x 54, 42 x 66, 42 x 72, 42 x 80, 42 x 84, and 42 x 96. Different styles are available in different sizes, but we can accommodate any sized dining space.

Most of our rectangular solid wood dining tables are extendable. Many extend from the center, but some feature breadboard ends. These styles have two extension leaves and expand from the ends of the table.

These leaves are not self-storing, unlike the tables that expand from the center. Tables with breadboard ends include: Alexandria, Settler's Trestle, Wooden X, Farmhouse Trestle, and Auburn.

We have a greater variety of rectangular styles than round. These include: classic Amish Shaker and Mission tables as well as Mid Century, rustic, traditional, and modern styles. We also offer reclaimed wood dining tables including the Timberland, Belmont, and Empire styles.

These table styles are an excellent option for a rustic farmhouse feel. The reclaimed wood comes from torn down barns, so each table has character and a rich history. These options are also more sustainable because they divert waste from landfills.

From trestle tables to double pedestal or turned leg tables, we offer a wide range of rectangular styles. Elevate your dinner parties with any of our handcrafted Amish tables.

Browse our real wood dining chairs and benches as well. Mix and match upholstered and solid wood styles to create your dream dining set.
