Our Sawbuck Day Bed Porch Swing

At Upstate Amish, we offer four unique styles of porch swings. Our Sawbuck style specifically makes an excellent day bed porch swing. This style is available in four feet for a loveseat swing, which is perfect for small spaces.

Or, the Sawbuck is available in six feet for a twin bed porch swing. Each option features large cross details below the arms of the swing. The Sunbrella cushions are high performance fabric and come in a variety of solid and patterned options shown below.

This porch swing bed is part of our Sawbuck outdoor collection. Other matching pieces include a loveseat, armchair, coffee table, and end table. Each piece displays the large cross detail and are available in matching fabric and poly wood color.

Benefits of a Porch Bed Swing

A bed swing is an excellent addition to any outdoor space. It offers a cozy, comfortable place to take a nap or read a book outdoors. Sway in the breeze and enjoy the weather with your own outdoor day bed.

Like all our outdoor furniture, our porch swing frames are 100% premium poly wood. This material is weather resistant, long lasting, and sustainable. Unlike red cedar and other solid woods, our poly lumber is immune to moisture and severe weather.

Another benefit of choosing Upstate Amish is the ability to customize both the fabric and actual poly wood color. The fabric options are detailed above and below are our poly wood color options. For each piece of outdoor furniture, customers can choose one or two poly wood colors.

If you choose the two-toned option, one color acts as a base and the other an accent. Our standard colors have a variety of natural and neutral options. The premium options are slightly more expensive and are brighter, more vibrant colors.

At the same price as our premium options are our wood grain colors. These are: seashell, birchwood, coastal gray, driftwood gray, antique mahogany, and Brazilian walnut. These options are exclusive to our poly wood supplier, Tangent Sustainable Lumber.

While the piece is entirely recycled plastic, the wood grain colors mimic the appearance of natural wood. This way, the poly has the color and grain pattern of solid wood with none of the negative factors.

Choose an Upstate Amish porch swing for a variety of benefits. Our swings are sustainable, durable, and customizable.

Drawbacks of a Bed Swing for a Porch

The main con of a porch swing is the installation process. Hasty setup can result in the swing falling from the ceiling, unfortunately. Be sure to hang your swing bed under joists or beams in the ceiling. Ensure that these beams can support a few hundred pounds and that there is no rot or other damage.

Safety can be another concern with a porch swing. Falls can occur for older users with unsteady balance or for playing children. Be sure that children and elderly guests exercise caution when using the porch swing.

Space limitations can be another setback. Make sure there is 3-4 feet of clearance in front of and behind the swing. This way, the swing can sway back and forth with no need for concern.

After taking these considerations into account, enjoy your poly wood porch swing. When correctly installed and safely used, porch swings offer a relaxing, comfortable seating option for outdoor living spaces.
