Massed produced alternatives cannot compete with our level of tailoring. Larger retailers typically only sell the most popular styles and colors, leaving little room for customizing. Because each order is tailorable, delivery times can be longer than some alternatives. In stock furniture is available in just two to four weeks. Or, customers are able to take home their purchases from our store in Seneca if they have the means. Customized orders take eight to twelve weeks for our Amish partners to craft and deliver.

Choose an Upholstered Bed Frame Style
To start customizing your ideal bedroom set, first choose one of our upholstered bed frames. Or, customize any of our other styles to include an upholstered headboard.
Please note that each frame is part of a set with matching bedroom furniture. Sets include: nightstands, a dresser, a dresser mirror, a chest of drawers, and often other unique pieces.
Each item in a set is available for individual purchase. However, a set with matching details brings a sense of cohesion to any bedroom.

Hilton
The Hilton style features classic mid century modern design and is a panel bed. The upholstered headboard has a solid wood border for added contrast between the fabric and natural wood.
The entire set features clean, straight lines for a minimalist look. The mid century tapered legs add a vintage touch and the paneled footboard provides subtle detail.
This upholstered frame and matching bedroom furniture look excellent in maple wood with our Brown Velvet stain. However, we also recommend walnut in Natural or Cocoa Light stains. This is because walnut was traditionally popular in mid century furniture for its natural color contrast and gorgeous grain.
Hudson
At first glance, the Hudson style resembles the Hilton. However, subtle differences in details make each set unique.
Like the Hilton, this frame features clean edges for a minimalist look with an upholstered headboard. However, this style has sturdy, square legs with no paneling along the footboard. This gives it more of a modern rustic look rather than vintage.
The bedroom storage pieces of the Hudson set feature overlay drawers to accentuate the minimalist feel. Pieces in the Hilton set have regular inset drawers in line with mid century design.
We recommend rustic white oak or hickory wood for this set. The simple design draws focus to the figured grain pattern and natural imperfections of the wood. This combination of style and wood type creates a unique contemporary farmhouse feel.
Katelyn
The Katelyn style is our only option with a fully upholstered bed frame. Only the legs, which are a few inches tall, are visible solid wood. The footboard, sides, and headboard are available in your choice of high quality fabric.
This frame features a low footboard and rather high headboard for a unique, comfortable look. The headboard borders the sides of the frame for a few inches for a cozy feel.
More Options
As mentioned, customers can also tailor one of our other styles to have an upholstered headboard. For example, the Weston and Denali styles typically feature a paneled headboard. However, we can edit the design of either to include fabric instead.
Our Cambria style is another option that would look excellent with a fabric headboard instead of its shiplap back. Styles like the Miranda would also look unique with an arched upholstered headboard. Reach out with any questions about customizing our other bed frame styles.
Upholstered Platform Bed Frame Options
After choosing the style of your upholstered wood bed frame, choose its size and browse storage options.
Size Options
For every style we offer a full, queen, king, or California king upholstered bed frame. We offer a couple styles of twin size beds, which customers can tailor to include upholstery.
Please note that custom sizes are available as well. We will work with you to find the perfect fit for your space. An example of a custom piece would be an upholstered queen bed as part of a wall to wall unit with storage towers.
Upholstered Storage Bed Frames
For each style, there are five options available for the base of the bed frame. Typically, an Amish frame will include wooden slats with center posts. Since this option requires a box spring underneath the mattress, we also offer four types of platform bases.
The first type does not include storage space and is a simple, solid wood platform available at whatever height you request. The second option features two drawers on each side of the bed frame. The third option includes two drawers at the footboard and one on each side of the bed.
The final option for an upholstered bed with storage are deep siderail drawers. This option features two frame to floor drawers on either side of the bed and offers the most storage capacity.
All solid wood frames are sturdy with a high weight capacity. Our Amish made bedroom furniture is highly durable and maintains its function and appearance over time.

After choosing the style, size, and base, customers choose the remaining details. This of course includes wood type, stain color, hardware, and fabric color.
Wood Species and Stain
We offer a high quality selection of solid domestic hardwoods to choose from. This includes: maple, cherry, oak, hickory, birch, elm, and walnut wood. Oak types we offer are: red oak, rustic white oak, and quarter sawn white oak.
For each species, we offer multiple stain colors that compliment the natural tones of the wood. Different species have varying numbers of stains available depending on how evenly the wood stains.
For example, maple wood has fourteen different stain color options that are all unique. Meanwhile, walnut wood only has two options that each highlight different aspects of the natural color or grain.

In addition to wood stains, we also offer paint on red oak and maple wood. Choose between the two depending on if you prefer to see a prominent grain through the paint or a smoother texture.
We also offer a variety of classic two toned color combinations. A popular choice is an Ebony stain on maple with a Michael's cherry stain on elm. Another, lighter option is maple in white paint with white oak in a Granite Bay stain. Or, create a color combination unique to your bedroom set.
Hardware Details
Customize your upholstered bed frame down to the smallest details. We offer a quality selection of knobs and handles in a range of styles and shapes. Finishes are available in gold, silver, bronze, and black.
Your choice of handles or knobs will be visible on the frame if you choose an upholstered storage bed with drawers. If you order matching bedroom storage furniture, hardware details will remain consistent, unless you want multiple different types.
