Styles for a Storage Bed Frame with Drawers

Every bed style at Upstate Amish is available with a platform base. These options specifically make excellent storage beds and are viewable on our website. Each of the styles detailed below has a matching set of bedroom furniture available.

Craftsman Mission

This bed frame features classic Amish Mission design. Three arched panels lie underneath parallel slats for a traditional look. We recommend side rail drawers so the headboard and footboard match.

A similar Mission style without slats is available as a twin bed frame with storage. This option also features paneling along the headboard and footboard as well as an arched cutout base. The drawers lie on one side of the bed because of the decreased width of the bed.

We recommend quarter sawn white oak for Mission style bedroom furniture. This specific cut of wood is essential to classic Amish style for its durability and beautiful wood grain. It features a ray fleck pattern that resembles bright ribbons for a unique, highly figured grain.

Weston Bed Frame with Headboard Storage

Our Weston style is the best choice for maximum storage in a bed frame without a wall unit. The overall look is rather modern with clean lines and minimal detail. Basic paneling runs along the footboard and sliding doors on the headboard.

The base of the storage bed features three drawers on either side. The headboard features three additional square drawers as well as a small pull out surface on both sides. Sliding panels on the actual headboard complete this piece.

They reveal an outlet for charging needs and spacious hidden compartments. The flat surface along the headboard also allows for visible storage of lamps, books, and more.

Belmont

Our Belmont style is a more ornate option for a bed frame with drawer storage. This option features intricate crown molding throughout the design for a luxurious look. Touch light switches in the headboard add to this ornate bed frame.

Our Bookcase Unit Bed features even more storage space than the Weston. This is possible because of its storage towers on either side of the bed. The actual frame is similar in structure to the Weston. However, this style feels more traditional with beveled paneling details on the headboard and footboard.

Like the Weston, the Bookcase style features three drawers on either side of the frame and a headboard with sliding doors. These slanted doors reveal hidden storage space and a power strip for charging needs.

Above the headboard are three mirrors and lighting that act as the bridge between the storage towers. Each tower features intricate black rope trim as well as beveled and arched panels. As for storage, both towers have two large doors that open to shelving space.

Beneath each door is a wide pullout surface for convenience. Under this are three more drawers for all your storage needs. A unique detail is a hidden, velvet lined pistol drawer at the base of each tower. This is perfect for storing an actual gun or fine jewelry that needs a discreet place when not in use.

Our Hudson style is an excellent choice for an upholstered bed frame with storage. It features contemporary design that would compliment the boxy shape of a platform base with deep siderail drawers.

The Hilton is a similar option that features tapered legs in classic mid century modern style. For this option, we do not recommend deep drawers, as the stylish tapered leg would not be possible.

Our Miranda style also makes an excellent solid wood bed frame with storage. It features a slightly curved sleigh headboard with a dramatic arch and paneling. It looks excellent in maple wood with our Asbury Brown stain and burnished edges.

Sizing

First, choose your favorite from our many styles of bed frames. Then, decide what size bed works best for your space. Select a king, California king, full, or queen bed frame with storage.

A California king bed frame with storage is a rare option. This specific size differs from a regular king bed in both the width and the length. A regular king measures 79.5W x 88L while A California king size is 75.5W x 92L in inches.

Ask us about custom sizes like a twin xl bed frame with storage. Our Mission and Heritage styles are viewable online in a regular twin size with storage along one side of the bed. This works well for maximizing storage space in small bedrooms. Let us know about any other edits you may want to make to the frame design as well.

Drawer Placement

We offer four different styles of platform bases for our bed frames with storage. Unlike the regular Amish bed frame, these options do not require a box spring.

First, we offer a plain platform bed base with no storage. The second option is a siderail drawer unit that features two drawers on each side of the bed. The third design features siderail and footboard storage with four drawers total. Two pull out of the footboard and one along each side of the bed.

For the second and third options, the raised drawers are several inches from the floor. The fourth and final option is a deep siderail drawer unit. This design features two drawers on either side of the bed that extend to the floor for maximum storage capacity.

The final option allows for the most storage, although details like tapered legs on the bed frame will not be possible. All beds with drawers along the sides allow space for nightstands, providing easy access.

Wood Species and Stain

Every piece of furniture at Upstate Amish is 100% solid wood with no veneers or laminates. We offer a wide variety of domestic hardwoods to choose from for each piece.

This includes: maple, cherry, hickory, oak, birch, elm, and walnut wood. Of our oak options, red oak, rustic white oak, and quarter sawn white oak are available.

Each wood species has a variety of stain colors available. For example, maple alone has fourteen unique colors to choose from because the wood absorbs stain well. Keep in mind the natural tones of the wood will affect how the same stain looks on different species.
