About Our Amish Dining Tables with Leaves
All furniture at Upstate Amish is 100% domestic solid wood with no veneers or laminates. This means each dining table and chair is heirloom quality and meant to last for generations. Our skilled Amish partners in Ohio handcraft each piece with precision and years of experience.
Choosing Amish furniture means choosing a combination of detailed craftsmanship and high quality materials. Another major benefit is the high level of customization available. With Upstate Amish, customers choose the wood species, wood stain, style, and size of every piece of furniture.
Even details like dimensions and hardware are changeable. We work with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with their personalized purchases.
Monroe Table and Bench with Windsor Chairs in Natural Hickory

Each extendable table is complete with a smooth, geared mechanism to guide leaves into place with minimal effort. Not only is this transition easy, but results in a seamless appearance. Most of our solid wood extendable dining tables have self-storing leaves for added convenience.
For our solid top tables, the grain runs lengthwise down the table. For an extendable table, the grain will run widthwise for better cohesion with the leaves. All options extend the length of the table, never the width.
When purchasing an extendable dining table, be sure to purchase the maximum number of chairs you will require. Also ensure there is a suitable place to store unused chairs in your home.
Extendable Round Table Styles
All our round dining tables with a leaf expand from the center. This creates an oval dining table. For each style, the dining table has self storing leaves that are easy to access and use.
Before we detail which styles we offer, it is important to understand how leaves affect dimensions and seating capacity. Below, we will detail which round table sizes we offer and their seating capacity with and without leaves.
36 Inch: Solid top seats 2 comfortably and 4 maximum, add one 12" leaf to seat 4-6

Our Alberta extendable round dining table with leaves is an excellent choice for many spaces. The base features four strong pillars that connect to form one central pedestal. Because this base is so sturdy, it is our only round table that can support a 72 inch tabletop. This style is also available as an extendable pub table at 50, 54, and 60 inches.

An excellent option for a more formal dining space is our Carlisle round table. This solid wood extendable dining table features a pedestal base with four legs that dramatically curve outwards. These legs meet at the center of the table and form a small platform. This style certainly has an elegant look, making it the perfect choice for a more sophisticated space.
Our Global style is a more traditional oval extendable dining table. It features a heavily ringed, turned pedestal base. This technique produces an almost vase shape towards the top of the base that spills into a circle shape at the bottom. This creates slight symmetry between the lowest part of the base and the tabletop for a unique look.
A great space saving option for many kitchens is our Traditional Round Drop Leaf Table. This option features a table with folding leaves rather than self storing leaves. Our drop leaf table has a distinct, classic look. The ringed pedestal base features four small legs that arch outwards from the center.

Rectangular Extendable Table Styles
Most of our rectangular kitchen tables with leaves extend from the center with self storing leaves. However, there are a few that extend from each end of the table. These are "breadboard ends" and the leaves for these tables are not self storing.
Styles with breadboard ends are: Settler's Trestle, Alexandria, Hillside, and Auburn. For the Alexandria and Hillside, only certain wood types have breadboard ends while others extend from the center.
Below, we will detail how adding leaves to each table size affects seating capacity. Then, we will highlight some of our favorite rectangular dining tables with leaves.
