60" Round Dining Tables

(33 products)

At Upstate Amish Furniture Gallery, we offer a wide variety of wood types, stains, and styles for 60" round tables. Our skilled Amish woodworkers handcraft each table with domestic solid wood. We guarantee heirloom quality and beautiful, expert craftsmanship with each piece.

Styles of 60" Round Dining Tables we Offer

We have four basic styles of 60 inch round tables that each come in a variety of wood types and stains. These styles include three different extending dining tables with leaves and a unique whiskey barrel pub table.

One of our most popular styles is the Alberta. This 60 inch round extendable dining table features a solid, stable pedestal base. Four pillars connect in a cross pattern to create this base that supports the table top. This style is available with a solid table top or an optional 18 inch extension leaf.

The Alberta is also available as a pub table. This means the height is 36 inches instead of 30, which is standard height. The pub style is also extendable and looks about the same, but with a taller, lengthened pedestal base.

With the Alberta and our other extendable tables, the optional leaf is self storing and foldable. The tables have gears in place to ease the transition as well.

Another option is our Global 60 inch round pedestal dining table. This more formal, elegant style features a turned pedestal base with intricate ring details. This table extends as well, but the leaf is 12 inches instead of 18.

Our final 60 inch round dining table with a leaf option is the Carlisle. Like the Global, this style offers a 12 inch leaf instead of 18. It features a large beveled edge and four elegant, curved legs that meet to form a pedestal table.

Aside from the extendable dining tables is the Round Whiskey Single Barrel Pub Table. This certainly makes for a unique dining experience. The table size does not extend because the barrel and glass insert make it impossible. This repurposed whiskey barrel table is complete with a black metal foot rail and measures 36 inches high.

Our barrel pub table would make an interesting dining or kitchen table. It may look like it can function indoors or outdoors, but the solid hardwood table top cannot withstand the elements. If you are searching for an outdoor dining table, browse our sustainable poly wood collection.

All tables mentioned above are available in any domestic hardwood we offer. You can also choose from a wide variety of wood stains to achieve your desired look.

How Many Chairs at a 60" Round Table

Typically, a round dining table 60 inches in diameter with a solid table top seats six people. A 60 inch round table seats how many with optional extension leaves? If you choose to add a 12 inch extension leaf, it can seat eight. With an 18 inch leaf, the table can seat up to nine dining chairs.

While a 60" round dining table with 6 chairs is standard, remember that you will need more chairs if your table extends. Ensure that you have a place in your home to store the additional chairs when they aren't in use.

If your dining space needs a higher seating capacity, browse our 72 inch round tables collection. These tables can extend to seat up to 12 people. Or, look through our selection of rectangular dining tables.

Unlike rectangular tables, round dining settings usually have a pedestal base. This allows more people to sit at the table without table legs getting in the way of the chairs.

Wood Types we Offer for 60" Round Dining Room Tables

Your solid wood dining set is sure to be heirloom quality and highly durable when you purchase from Upstate Amish. We offer many types of domestic hardwood you can choose from. Below is a description of each type of wood to help you decide which to choose for your dining table and chairs.

Cherry Wood

One of the most popular lumbers we craft pieces from is black cherry. This wood is unique and more expensive than others because it changes color over time. It starts as a light pink wood and deepens to a darker reddish brown hue. This process is oxidation and occurs when the wood absorbs sunlight and oxygen over time.

About 80% of the change occurs within the first year, but the wood continues to darken for up to five years. Cherry is not only popular for its color transformation, but for its wood grain pattern as well. Typically smooth, satiny, and straight, cherry can also have curls and burls that contrast with the rest of the pattern.

We offer both Sap Cherry and Select Cherry as lumber options. Our Sap Cherry is actually a mix of sap and heart wood, meaning there is lots of contrast in the wood color. Some remains light brown, while the rest deepens into the reddish brown mentioned earlier. Select Cherry is 100% heartwood, meaning the whole piece will evenly change color over time.

Walnut Wood

Another popular yet expensive option is walnut wood. Walnut is in high demand because of its chocolate, dark brown heartwood that often features hints of purple, red, or gray. Like cherry, it typically has a straight, uniform pattern but can display figures like curls, waves, and burls.

Unlike cherry, walnut lightens over time from a deep brown to warmer tones. It can change to a rich honey, yellowish color that adds character and an antique appearance.

We offer both Sap Walnut and Select Walnut, meaning you can choose a mix of sap and heartwood or 100% heartwood.

Hickory Wood

Hickory is one of the hardest and strongest domestic lumbers and is highly shock resistant. This combined with its beautiful pale yellow sapwood and reddish golden heartwood make it an excellent choice for a dining set.

Its grain is straight or wavy and commonly has knots and streaks that give it a rustic feeling. Our hickory pieces are fully heartwood, which contrasts light brown with a darker reddish brown creating a "calico" appearance.

Maple Wood

Our maple heartwood is a rich, deep reddish-brown. The grain is generally fine, straight, and uniform, although curls and bird's eye patterns are not rare. It has a smooth texture and sometimes contains small pith flecks. Insects make these patterns which the tree then heals with scar tissue, creating small reddish brown patterns in the wood.

Maple is harder than other woods and highly durable. This combined with its unique appearance make it a great option for a dining set.

White Oak Wood

White oak heartwood is typically a light to medium brown with olive tones. The grain is straight and burls, knots, and cathedral patterns are common, giving the wood a rustic feel.

Our Quarter Sawn White Oak often displays unique medullary rays. These run perpendicular to growth rings and would act as nutrient channels in the tree. This rare feature is in high demand and creates an interesting wood pattern.

Elm Wood

The color of elm wood ranges from a light tan to a reddish brown. Its rare interlocked grain creates unique patterns in every piece. The wood fibers change direction in alternating growth rings, resulting in this interlocked grain. This makes the lumber especially strong and resistant to shock.
