White Oak Dining Tables

(18 products)

White oak is one of our favorite wood species at Upstate Amish Furniture Gallery. In our store and online, we sell white oak tables in a variety of sizes and styles. All are 100% solid wood with no veneers or laminates.

Every item at Upstate Amish is heirloom quality and handmade by Amish professionals in Ohio. They create timeless pieces that will last your family for generations. This combination of skill and dedication is rare.

Each table is entirely customizable in wood species, wood stain, size, and style. Because our Amish partners craft each order for individual customers, our level of customization is unmatched. Amish made furniture is worth the high price because of this as well as its heirloom quality and detailed craftsmanship.

About White Oak Tabletops

White oak wood is a domestic hardwood that is highly durable and desired for its strength and rustic appearance. This species is rot and water resistant because it is non-porous. It has a Janka hardness rating of 1360. This means it would take 1360 pounds of force to embed a steel ball halfway into the wood.

White oak is perfect for heavy use areas and resists scratches and dents. This makes it the ideal species for a dining room table.

As for color, the sapwood is typically light and creamy. The heartwood is a light or medium brown with olive or gray undertones. We use both sap and heart wood in our white oak furniture, which creates an aesthetic mix of color tones. Over time, the color can deepen to an amber or honey hue.

This species typically has a straighter, more uniform grain than other woods. However, cathedral patterns and swirls are common as well. Quartersawn white oak is sawn in a different manner and features dramatic ray fleck patterns. These appear as shiny ribbons or streaks that run opposite to the grain.

Quartersawn white oak is expensive because the sawing method takes more time and uses more resources than regular oak. However, it is essential to the classic Amish Mission style.

A solid white oak table is an excellent choice for any dining or kitchen area. Its durability combined with its unique color and grain pattern make it a classic choice for many. Our rustic white oak is available in a variety of stains ranging from brown velvet and stone brown to blissful sand.

Our Favorite Solid White Oak Dining Tables

A popular choice for many is our Monroe Mid Century White Oak Kitchen Table. This style features straight, clean lines and tapered legs. Like most of our styles, the Monroe is available as a white oak extending dining table.

Similarly, we offer a Mid Century Modern Round Dining Table as well. This style features a pedestal base consisting of four legs that meet at the top. They then branch out at obtuse angles for an unusual design. This simple yet stylish design is perfect for a mid century themed dining room.

A great option for small spaces is our Lakeland Shaker Rectangular Table. This style comes in our smallest size at 36 x 48 inches, perfect for a compact kitchen area. The Lakeland has a rounded, beveled edge tabletop and tapered legs. This white oak dining table for up to 6 people (with an extension leaf) is high quality with a classic style.

The Shaker Hill White Oak Farm Table is another excellent option. This larger size can seat up to 12 people with extension leafs. The unique base consists of two legs that connect with an arch on both sides. Then, the symmetrical sides connect through another, larger arch.

Thick, curved Shaker style legs give this extendable white oak dining table a distinctive look. The grain runs lengthwise on a solid tabletop, and widthwise on an extendable top for a seamless transition. Our other extendable tables follow this rule as well.

If searching for a formal white oak dining table for 8 people, the Parson style is a great choice. The Parson design features rather thin, yet ornate turned legs. This gives the table an air of elegance and delicacy. However, this solid wood dining table is strong and durable like the rest of our products.

An excellent choice for a round dining table of white oak is the Carlisle Single Pedestal Style. This is another elegant style that features four legs that dramatically curve to meet at a platform and form a pedestal base. Please note that this style is available with a single or double pedestal and as round or rectangular.

Matching Dining Chairs for a White Oak Dining Room Table

To compliment our mid century modern tables, the Windsor and Cordelle chairs pair perfectly. The Windsor design features deep scoop seats and shaker style legs. Its soft, rounded edges contrast well with the clean lines of the Monroe table.

The Cordelle style, on the other hand, features dramatic, diagonal lines that serve as the back legs and support the arms. Rather than contrasting with the Monroe table, the Cordelle chair matches it perfectly with hard, straight lines. Though unusual, this chair style is one of our favorites with a scoop seat and rounded back.

Both the Windsor and Cordelle styles are available with fabric seats. This can be a perfect way to add an accent to the heads of the table, or to bring more contrast against the color of the wood.

More traditional tables like the Lakeland Shaker and Shaker Hill styles pair well with the Arlington and Eagle chairs. Both styles feature Shaker style legs and a curved back for added comfort.

The Curlew and Kinglet chairs are more elegant and smooth. These styles are perfect compliments for the Carlisle and Parson tables. Both are available with fabric seats as well for a more formal look.
