L Shaped Wood Desk Styles at Upstate Amish

We offer two unique styles for a solid wood L shaped office desk. Each features beautiful handcrafted design and high quality domestic hardwood. Our Amish partners are expert woodworkers and create each piece with skill and attention to detail.

After a brief description of our two existing styles, learn how you can tailor your order to your preference.

Both the Brooklyn and Jackson L desks feature the same general design. The symmetrical desks include two large file cabinets on either side beneath two drawers. Two wider drawers lie above where the desk chair would sit.

Each style is part of a collection of matching office furniture. This includes a bookshelf, file cabinet, various desk styles, and chairs that compliment them well.

Brooklyn Executive L Shape Desk

The Brooklyn style is ideal for a formal, professional workplace. It has a sophisticated look and features gorgeous details.

These include a beautiful waterfall edge that compliments the elegant flared legs well. This style is available with or without arched and beveled paneling on the desk sides for added detail.

Walnut wood in a natural finish looks excellent on this desk. It brings an artistic touch with its natural variation in color and grain pattern. For a more formal, uniform option, we recommend a maple base in Ebony stain with a Brown Velvet surface. Flamed birch is another unique choice that pairs well with the regal, elegant design of the Brooklyn desk.

Our Clark high back leather chair pairs well with this style for a gorgeous L shaped executive desk set. We recommend matching the solid wood frame of the chair to the species and stain of the desk surface for a cohesive look.

Jackson Rustic Wooden L Shaped Desk

The Jackson L desk has a more relaxed and simplistic look compared to the Brooklyn. This style is perfect for a casual office with an open, inviting feel. This style is an excellent example of classic Amish style with basic, functional design.

The Jackson desk features clean, neat lines throughout with straight, square legs central to Amish Mission style. The surface displays a slight beveled edge for subtle detail. Pullout boards above the drawers are available for increasing surface area.

Rustic hickory wood in our Willowbend stain is an attractive combination for this style. The lighter color and irregular grain patterns add character and warmth to any work space.

Our Reno upholstered office chair in Birch fabric pairs well with this casual desk. The rounded shapes of the seat and chair back contrast well with the straight lines and edges of the Jackson style.

Customize Your L Shape Wood Desk

As previously mentioned, our handcrafted Amish furniture is fully customizable. Since Amish woodworkers craft each piece one at a time, all details are adjustable. This ensures our customers receive furniture tailored to their individual taste.

Larger retailers simply cannot compete with this level of customization. They typically only offer the most popular styles and colors without the ability to edit details. While Amish furniture is more expensive, the personalization and heirloom quality woods make it worth the investment.

Custom L Desk Design Ideas

While we offer unique styles of L shaped desks, we can also design fully custom orders. Customers can send us sketches or pictures and we will create their interior design vision.

Below are some examples of fully custom L desks available through Upstate Amish. Please note that pricing differs depending on various factors for custom orders.

L Shaped Gaming Desk with LED Lights

Many gamers spend hours at a time at their computer desks enjoying their free time. Create the perfect gaming L shaped desk suited to your individual preferences.

This could include any number of elevated surfaces for placing additional monitors. Add raised shelving with or without glass doors to display Funko Pops and other beloved merchandise.

Ask about LED lights and power outlets on the actual desk surface to eliminate the need for a power cord. Include drawers for physical game discs, a convenient hook for headphones, and a pullout surface for a keyboard.

Choose the exact height, length, and width that work best for your space as well. Ask us about any other details you would like to incorporate in the best L desk for gaming unique to your space.

L Shaped Standing Desk with Storage

For many people, business days require long hours of working at a computer. Sitting down for frequent extended periods can affect a person's health. A great way to minimize this problem is investing in an adjustable height standing L desk.

This option offers adequate surface space and the ability to sit or stand at the same work space. This functions as a regular desk with a surface that raises and lowers easily. View the basic design for this on the main desk page underneath the available products.

Large L Shape Desk with Hutch

For maximum horizontal and vertical storage space, an L shaped desk with a hutch is an excellent option. For an idea of what this could look like, navigate to the Brooklyn and Jackson styles with a hutch top on the main desk page.

We could edit one of these designs to fit with an L desk, or we could create a new design. Our standard hutch features two large doors with open shelving in between them. However, we can edit it to display a totally different arrangement of doors, drawers, and shelves.

Tailor Details of Your L Shaped Desk with Drawers

Aside from the actual design and dimensions of a desk, customers can edit a variety of other details. This primarily includes choosing the wood, stain, and hardware details. However, ask us about any other edits to your custom Amish L shaped desk.

Choose Wood Species and Stain Color

First, choose from our selection of high quality domestic hardwoods. Each option is solid wood with no veneers or laminates to last your office for decades.

Popular solid woods we offer are maple, cherry, white oak, and walnut. Other options include red oak, hickory, flamed birch, and highly figured elm wood. A unique choice is quarter sawn white oak, a special cut of oak central to classic Amish Mission style. Ask us if we have any other available options currently, as we sometimes procure rare wood types.

Each wood type is available in a variety of stain colors. Maple wood alone has fourteen options that range from light Blissful Sand to deep Brown Velvet. To explore stain colors, navigate to the Information tab online and select Indoor Wood and Color Options.

Desks are available as all one wood species and stain or in a two toned combination. For the latter option, the base will be one color and the surface another.

To decide on the best combination for your L-shaped L shaped desk, determine the atmosphere of the workplace first. For more professional, business-like environments, we recommend darker stain colors and even, uniform grain patterns.

An excellent option is walnut wood with our Cocoa Light stain. Maple wood in Ebony makes an excellent black base as well.

For offices with a casual, relaxed atmosphere, we recommend lighter stains with more irregular grain patterns. Our rustic white oak or hickory wood in Blissful Sand or Willowbend stains are excellent options.

Select File Drawer Handles and Knobs

Next, choose the handles or knobs that look best for the style you want to achieve. We offer a wide selection in gold, silver, black, and bronze finishes to compliment a variety of desks.

For a modern look, we recommend sleek, thin handles that offer a minimalist look. Some of the more textured silver or black handles work well for a rustic look. For a more traditional or Amish Shaker style, wooden knobs are available as well.

Edit Other Desk Details

Finally, tell us about any other details you would like to modify on your custom L shaped desk. This could include slightly altering the dimensions to fit your space perfectly.

Or, customers can add or exclude details like tapered legs, beveled surfaces, paneled drawer fronts, and more. Enjoy total control over your order with Upstate Amish Furniture Gallery.
