Tailor Your Wood Office Chair
A major benefit of choosing Amish made furniture is the ability to customize completely. Each wood desk chair is handmade after customers place an order. This ensures total control over every detail.
Larger retailers rely on mass production, and only offer the most popular styles and colors. They cannot compete with our level of customization. After reading the below sections, ask us about further tailoring dimensions and details.
Wood Species and Stain Color
Every domestic hardwood we offer is entirely solid wood with no veneers or laminates. This ensures longevity and durability and allows customers to sand and refinish the piece years later.
Available wood species are: maple, cherry, oak, hickory, birch, elm, and walnut. Red oak, rustic white oak, and quarter sawn white oak are all distinct options.
For each wood type, choose from a variety of stain colors to find the perfect fit for your home or office. Maple wood alone has fourteen available stains that range from light Blissful Sand to deep Brown Velvet.
To view available stain and species combinations, navigate to our Information tab online. Click on Indoor Wood and Color Options and browse our selection of gorgeous hardwoods. Painted wood is available on smooth maple or textured red oak as well.
Fabric, Leather, or Solid Wood Seat
Next, decide if you prefer a solid wood seat or a more comfortable fabric or leather option. Regular wood bases feature a slight scoop seat for added comfort.
We offer a wide variety of fabric colors as well as leather and faux leather. Popular fabrics are our off white birch and blueish gray smog colors. The beige Paloma faux leather looks lovely with maple wood in a Dark Knight stain.
Office Chair in Wood Styles
Every office chair features a five star rolling base with a height adjustment mechanism. This includes a swivel feature, which allows ease of movement all day long.
Each base features unique design, although details are easily editable. For example, customers can ask for the base of the Low Bent Paddle style on the Fostoria chair.
If a stationary desk chair is preferable, navigate to our dining room furniture tab. Each style below is available as a stationary chair with no wheels or swivel. Also let us know if you prefer a swivel base without wheels instead.
Fostoria
This wooden office chair on wheels features simple, classic design. The back is noticeably steamed and bent for working long hours in comfort. The chair back features an arched top between two defined sides and three long, even slats.
The five star base has a modern, clean look perfect for a contemporary office setting. Straight lines combined with soft angles give it a casual, comfortable look.
The Fostoria style looks excellent in cherry wood with our Michael's Cherry stain. Simple black leather or faux leather contrasts well with the reddish tint and varying grain patterns.
Kinglet
Our Kinglet office chairs offer a comfortable seat with a delicate, elegant look. The steamed and bent back curves for lumbar support and features two wide slats. The chair top is straight and slightly pointed at the ends.
The five star base is simple and smooth with an arched cutout under each leg. Two especially attractive color combinations are viewable online for this style. These are: maple wood in Dark Knight with a Paloma faux leather seat and natural walnut with birch fabric.
The former is perfect for a more formal workplace. The dark, even stain of the wood contrasts well with the beige-gray faux leather. The second option works well in a modern, casual workspace. The natural color variation and gorgeous walnut grain are certainly attractive.
Curlew
At first glance, the Curlew style looks rather similar to the Kinglet. Both feature a straight top, although the pointed ends are more pronounced in the Curlew chair. The comfortable curved back features three smaller slats for a symmetrical, even look.
The rolling base is the same as the Kinglet style, although customers can customize it how they wish. View this style online in white maple wood with a patterned blue fabric. For a more formal look, walnut wood in Cocoa Light stain with a Paloma faux leather seat would look excellent.
Oregon
The Oregon style is unique for its simple, soft and cozy look. Like the Curlew, it features three evenly sized wooden slats along the chair back. However, the top is both arched and rounded for a gentle feel. The five star base matches the Fostoria style for a simple, clean appearance.
View this style online in maple with a Dark Knight stain and our white Breken fabric. For a casual, inviting look, try rustic white oak in our Blissful Sand stain with the Birch off white fabric.
Low Bent Paddle
We recommend this style to achieve a vintage wood office chair look. This option features classic Amish design evident in its slatted, steamed and bent back. The five star base features soft, gentle curves for subtle detail. The rounded top offers a farmhouse, country look perfect for a casual workplace.
To achieve a true Amish look, we recommend quarter sawn white oak in our Michael's Cherry stain color. This specific cut of oak wood is essential to classic Shaker and Mission style furniture.
The oak is sawn perpendicular to the grain rather than straight. This results in less usable wood than normal, and therefore a higher price. However, the grain obtains a beautiful ribbon like pattern called ray flecks. This unique, highly figured look is perfectly suited to the simple, timeless design of Amish furniture.
Austin
This style has more of a rustic look with its solid, sturdy frame. The curved back features two wide slats underneath a thick arch for a comfortable seat to work long hours. The five star base displays sturdy, straight lines with soft angles.
For a farmhouse feel, view this style online in rustic quarter sawn white oak in our deep Asbury Brown stain color. For a cleaner, softer look, view the same cut of wood in our Cocoa Light stain with Paloma beige faux leather.
