One of our favorites at Upstate Amish is the Hilton Mid Century Modern King Bedroom Set. This set features classic MCM design with its simple, clean look. Throughout the set are straight edges common in contemporary style.
This set looks excellent in maple wood with our deep Brown Velvet stain, as shown below. However, walnut is a classic choice for mid century modern bedroom sets. Natural or Cocoa Light stain on walnut wood also suit the Hilton set perfectly.
Each piece of this set features MCM style tapered legs to achieve a vintage 60s look. These legs are straight on the two outward facing sides and taper from the two inward facing sides. This specific style of taper distinguishes these pieces as having mid century style.
All storage furniture pieces display inset drawers for a neat, simple look. We recommend long, thin handles to emphasize the clean lines of this mid century modern bedroom furniture set.

Hudson - Minimalist Modern
At first glance, this set may look similar to the MCM Hilton set detailed above. However, there are key differences in the details that separate these sets. The focal point of the Hilton is its MCM style, while the Hudson focuses on the grain pattern of the wood.
One way it does this is the uncommon use of overlay drawers throughout the set. This requires larger pieces of wood for each drawer, which better display intricate, highly figured patterns. This style also lacks the paneling of the Hilton to use larger pieces of solid wood with uninterrupted pattern.
For this reason, inconsistent, highly figured woods are the best choice for this set. Walnut (shown below) looks excellent with a mix of sap and heart wood for contrast in both color and grain. Other great options for the Hudson set are elm, flamed birch, and quarter sawn white oak.
Weston - Modern Shaker Style
Our Weston Bedroom Modern Set is a great example of a modern take on Shaker furniture. Shaker is a classic Amish style that highlights simplicity and functionality. Natural wood stains are common in Shaker furniture. However, a dark, consistent stain gives this set a more contemporary look.
Likewise, choosing wooden knobs for the hardware options is more in line with classic Shaker style. For a sleeker, more modern look, we recommend thin, wide handles on the drawer fronts.
