Hilton Mid Century Bedroom Set
Like all bedroom sets at Upstate Amish, the Hilton features a bed frame, nightstands, a chest of drawers, a dresser, and a dresser mirror.
The mid century modern bed frame is available with an upholstered or paneled headboard. The footboard features basic paneling as well for subtle detail. The nightstands are available with three drawers or with one drawer and open shelving for storage needs.
All items in the our Hilton mid century modern bedroom set feature straight, clean lines. This creates a modern design style with crisp edges. The iconic mid century look comes from the perfect square shapes and tapered legs.
Sides of the storage pieces feature a simple panel design to match the footboard of the bed. This is in line with the mid century focus on basic, organic shapes and repetition.
This specific style of taper is unique to MCM. The legs are typically short and taper from only the two inward facing sides. The outward facing sides are straight for a geometric look.
This bedroom collection features excellent storage pieces for a cohesive set. The dresser provides vertical storage with five large drawers and a wide surface space. The chest of drawers similarly provides horizontal storage with eight drawers.

Size and Frame Type
The first step to customizing your bedroom set is choosing the size of the bed frame. We offer full, queen, king, and California king sizes for our solid wood beds.
Next, choose whether you prefer a traditional Amish frame or a platform base. Usually, our bed frames include parallel slats to support a box spring and mattress. However, we also offer four styles of platform bases for all bed frames.
A box spring is not necessary for any of the platform styles. Options include: no storage drawers, two on each side, or two at the footboard and one on each side. For each of these options, the drawers are several inches off the ground and there is space for nightstands.
The final platform storage option is our deep siderail drawers unit. This option features floor to frame drawers for maximum storage space. We don't recommend this frame option for our mid century bedroom set. The iconic tapered legs are central to the design and not possible with frame to floor drawers.
Wood Species and Stain
Next, choose from our selection of premium domestic hardwoods. These include: cherry, maple, oak, hickory, birch, elm, and walnut. Variations of oak we offer are: red oak, rustic white oak, and quarter sawn white oak.
Paint is available for red oak and maple wood, but we don't recommend this for MCM furniture. Mid century modern style emphasizes the use of natural material, so covering wood grain with paint is not ideal.
We suggest walnut wood in our natural or Cocoa Light stains for bedroom furniture in mid century modern stye. This specific wood species was popular during the origin of this movement for its unique grain and color.
Our natural walnut stain highlights the organic variation of wood undertones in red, gray, and purple. The Cocoa Light stain emphasizes the deep, chocolate color of select walnut heartwood and its fine wood grain. The darker stain makes the color more uniform, which brings focus to the unique grain patterns in walnut wood.
Either option looks excellent with classic mid century color schemes. Mustard yellow, olive green, and burnt orange all pair well with these walnut stains.
