The Ideal Luxury Wooden Kitchen Island Table

The Ideal Luxury Wooden Kitchen Island Table

At Upstate Amish, we offer two unique styles of high quality kitchen island tables. Each option features ample storage space for all your cooking and dining needs.

Like all our furniture, each kitchen island is handmade by expert Amish woodworkers in Ohio. This allows customers a high level of customization. Choose from our variety of wood species and stains to create the perfect island table for your kitchen space.

Even edit details like hardware options and dimensions. Because we offer this rare perk, our furniture takes longer to make than mass produced alternatives. Typically, it takes 8-12 weeks for our Amish partners to craft and deliver each order.

We use high quality domestic hard wood for each piece. This along with detailed, skilled craftsmanship creates heirloom quality furniture.

Our Solid Wood Kitchen Island Tables

An island kitchen table is a great addition to any kitchen space. They provide extra storage for stainless steel equipment, dishes, and utensils. Replace your kitchen cart with a luxury wooden kitchen island table.

Island tables for kitchens also offer additional surface space. This is ideal for a variety of cooking situations. For example, cooking large amounts of food requires lots of space.

Extra surface space is also helpful if more than one person is cooking at the same time. Kitchen islands simply offer a more efficient and spacious way to cook.

Each of our island kitchen tables also has space for four matching bar stools. This addition makes the kitchen a more comfortable, cozy place where conversation flows more naturally. It also offers a convenient spot to eat after cooking a meal.

Each table has a 1.5 inch thick butcher block top available in smooth style, roughsawn, or with plank lines. Customize either style to feature a mixer lift, drawers behind doors, pullout cutting boards, or a sliding trash compartment.

For both styles, the butcher block measures 64 x 36 inches and is 34.5 inches from the floor.

Turned Leg Kitchen Island Table

Our turned leg style features a more traditional, formal look. The storage space includes two drawers and three doors with detailed paneling. The sides of the island all display this same style of paneling for a cohesive, decorative look.

Each corner features a leg with intricate detail. This includes rings as well as contrast between square and circular shapes. The butcher block solid wood top looks excellent in an attractive wood like walnut.

We recommend choosing a dark stain for the base and a light stain for the top or vice versa. This adds contrast to the piece and calls attention to details.

The base of the turned leg style is 49 inches wide and 24.5 inches deep.

Some bar stools that pair well with this kitchen island table are our Parsons, Kowan, Hudson, and Turnstone styles. The Parsons offers an upholstered, comfortable option. Choosing a light colored fabric seat contrasts well with darker wood stains.

The Kowan is a solid wood bar stool that features gentle, elegant curves and simple design. The Hudson is a more complex and sleek option. The Turnstone is a space efficient swivel option with a comfortable fabric seat.

In the below picture, the base of the island is maple wood in our dark knight stain. The butcher block is rustic white oak wood in our granite bay stain. The chair styles featured are Turnstone and Urbana. This island and matching Costa bar stools also make an excellent combination and are viewable online.

Bridgeport Island Kitchen Table

The Bridgeport is an excellent choice for a modern kitchen. It features less ornate detail than the turned leg style but a similar sophisticated feel. The legs feature a sharp taper and are only a few inches tall, giving the piece a more simple look.

This style features clean, neat paneling along the sides and the door fronts. Like the turned leg design, this style features two drawers and three doors for ample storage space.

This base of this style is slightly smaller than the turned leg at 47.5 inches wide and 24 inches deep. For more compact spaces, a smaller option is available and viewable online. This base of this size measures 33.5 inches wide and 24 inches deep. The butcher block is 36 x 52 inches.

Some bar stool styles that pair well with the Bridgeport are: Reno, Jacana, and Post Mission. The Reno is an upholstered option featuring a round seat and curved back. The Jacana is a more compact upholstered option with a square seat and small back. The Post Mission features contemporary style with sharp angles and thin lines.

In the below picture, the Bridgeport base is maple wood in our gunsmoke stain. The butcher block top is hard, oiled maple in a much lighter, natural tone. The bar stools are the Urbana style with simple design.

Custom Kitchen Island Table

While our islands are customizable, we also offer fully custom orders. Whether your kitchen space requires a much smaller or much larger island table, we can work with you to create a unique piece. Reach out via our website, call, or visit our store in Seneca to discuss details.

Matching Kitchen Island and Dining Table Set

For layouts that have space for a kitchen or dining table directly next to the kitchen, consider a matching set. This can tie a large space together through matching wood species, stain, and style.

For the turned leg kitchen island table, we have a few suggestions for Amish dining furniture that pairs well. The Modern Farm Leg dining table and Curlew chairs compliment the turned leg style well. Both pieces display elegant curves and sophisticated design.

Another great pair is the Carlisle table and a set of Parsons upholstered chairs. These are also more formal and the contrast of wood and fabric color adds complexity.

For the Bridgeport, a more modern kitchen island dining room table mix is appropriate. We recommend our mid century modern Monroe table and Laker chairs. These styles feature straight, clean lines in simple, contemporary style.

Another set that pairs well with the Bridgeport is the Eclipse table and Eagle chairs. These both feature metal details that add a rustic touch to a modern space.

For more options, browse our kitchen and dining room furniture online. We offer a variety of tables and chairs to mix and match in many different styles. These include classic Amish Shaker and Mission style as well as modern, rustic, and traditional. Most tables are extendable or have a drop leaf function.
